i settle for a ghost i never knew

Cold, curt, yet soft-spoken and generally obsequious, Fensyleir is Dalish but does not especially look or act like it. Enjoys petting animals, being "on the hunt," killing demons, and collecting pretty flowers. He is generally indifferent to people and should absolutely not be trusted to return favors given to him.

• The sole survivor of an unnamed Dalish clan which once roamed the plains surrounding Orlais.


• The clan was massacred sometime around his fifteenth birthday (thus his lack of vallaslin). No love lost there for him, of course; he was already something of a chronic liar and sociopath prior to the massacre and not especially liked by his Keeper as a result.


• He lives in the wilderness most of the time. Will rob merchant caravans if they seem like likely targets. On the rare occasion that he needs something which he can't procure himself (new equipment, clothes, weaponry), he visits a noblewoman in Orlais who will pay him a small pittance to dispose of one person or another.


• His "patron" sees herself as a deeply open-minded woman. She is not. She is unusually fond of her Dalish assassin because he coincidentally resembles her own deceased son; she calls him Celaire — an Orlesian bastardization of his name — because she never remembers the one with which he introduces himself, and to be blunt, she also doesn't care.


• He is not especially fond of his "patron" and can be easily talked into killing the old lady as long as financial compensation is promised to him.


• As an OC, he's intended to be one of those optional side characters you can recruit into the Inquisition for little bonuses. Depending on the scenario, Fensyleir may be an ordinary scout or one of the assassins under Leliana's command. He is an unpredictable wildcard who cannot be trusted with sensitive hostage situations because his first priority is always his own self-interest — but if one merely needs a person or a group disposed of, there is no surer dagger in the dark, no more silent step in the shadows than Celaire.


• Your character may choose between calling him Fensyleir or Celaire. Neither choice affects their friendship with him.


• As an Inquisition spy, his sign-off is "Hunter."

Not looking for ships or smut. Violence, mindreading, and physical contact are all okay. Open to canon and crosscanon. I'm a slow tagger, so I'm fine with backtagging. Not keen on threadjacking or fourthwalling for this character.
